At least six people have been killed when a chemical-laden tanker was dumped in Sachin GIDC in Surat. While more than 23 laborers and artisans have been shifted to suffocating hospitals, in which 10 artisans and other laborers of Vishwa Prem Mill located in GIDC have been affected. As soon as the incident was reported, the fire department started running. Currently all the affected have been shifted to Civil under treatment.

According to the information received, all the laborers were sleeping 8-10 meters away from the chemical tanker parked outside Rajkamal Chikdi Plot No. 362 in GIDC. The tanker’s drainage pipe suddenly leaked and gas leaked, affecting the sleeping laborers and mill workers. At present, the mill workers, including all these laborers, have been shifted to nearby hospitals and civil hospitals for treatment.
