    Chanel, a French luxury group, on Tuesday appointed Indian-origin Leena Nair as its new Global Chief Executive (CEO) in London. Lena was previously the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) at Unilever.

    The international brand is known for its tweed suits, quilted handbags and No.5 perfumes. Lena will officially join the company from January of the new year. Alan Jope, Unilever’s chief executive officer (CEO), said Lena has made significant contributions to the company over the past three decades. I thank them for that.

    Leena Nair , 52, shifted to London from India 8 years ago in 2013. He then held the position of Global Vice President of Leadership and Organization Development at the Anglo-Dutch Company’s London headquarters. She was later promoted in 2016 and became Unilever’s first female and youngest CHRO.
