The state government will declare Dang a natural district on November 19 to promote organic farming. When asked about this, Agriculture Secretary Manish Bhardwaj admitted that under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel, we are declaring Dang district as the first ‘natural district’ in the country on November 19.President Ramnath Kovinde on Thursday hosted the Governors Conference-2021. In this program, the Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvart, presented the natural agriculture specialties taking place in the state.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 As soon as Acharya Devvrat was appointed as the Governor of Gujarat, he has launched a campaign to give priority to natural agriculture in the state. Under which the next Dang will be declared as a natural district by organizing a ceremony by the state government. Dang is a district rich in natural resources.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               For the last 2 years, 12 thousand farmers of the district have been making efforts to cultivate natural agriculture in their 57 thousand hectares of land. Dang currently has about 19,600 hectares of natural agriculture.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  “ How is organic farming done?”
Organic agriculture is called zero budget agriculture. In this farming, manure is made by adding cow urine of native cow and water, jaggery, chana flour in the dung. This is a different method of farming. In which manure is applied only while cultivating the land before sowing the crop in the soil, then fertilizer is given as required after the crop grows. There are no side effects from this fertilizer crop.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      “Farmers will benefit, crop production will increase”
The state government claims that if the farmers cultivate with chemical fertilizers, it will cost them. Also chemical fertilizers reduce the fertility of the soil, which will not decrease in this crop. Crop production increases as the land becomes fertile in two years due to natural agriculture. Since the crop is free from chemical fertilizers, its market value is higher. Dang will be declared as a natural district so more budget will be allocated. In the current financial year, Rs. A budget of Rs 225 crore has been allocated.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                “Dang grows 410 species of plants, flowers that do not grow for 15 days”
Dangs have anthurium flowers used as show-pieces and do not wither for 15 days. Besides, 12 to 13 varieties of rice, chickpeas, nagli, rajgaro, adad, mug, groundnut, chickpeas, peas, tuwer are produced.

“77% of the total area of Dang is forest area”
