Eastern Railway Recruitment 2023: Eastern Railway and Metro Railway, both under the Ministry of Indian Railways, have released a notification inviting applications from qualified Indian Nationals for various posts in different groups. The recruitment drive aims to fill 689 vacant positions in total. The eligibility criteria state that the upper age limit for UR (Unreserved) applicants is 42 years, 45 years for OBC (Other Backward Classes) candidates, and 47 years for SC/ST (Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe) candidates. The age of applicants will be calculated as of January 1, 2024.
Selected candidates will receive monthly salaries according to the 7th CPC (Central Pay Commission) pay matrix. However, to secure the positions, candidates need to pass the relevant medical fitness tests conducted by the Railway Administration to ensure they are physically fit to carry out the duties associated with the job.
